Constance Fouquet, Maisons du Monde: “The bigger calls for tender are, the more we believe that B2B should become a dedicated business”

With nearly €100 million in B2B revenue expected this year and a dedicated team of 50 people, the home furnishings retailer is making B2B a priority. Constance Fouquet, Executive Director of Digital, talks to mind Retail about the 2024 action plan, which includes an array of new payment and services options to serve professional clients.

Maisons du Monde has published €73 million in B2B revenue in 2022. What is your ambition for 2023?

Constance Fouquet: Maisons du Monde has been active in B2B for 14 years, but we are in the process of turning a corner. Last year, trade customers accounted for 6% of GMV, but we’re now growing by almost 20%, which should take us close to €100 million in B2B sales in 2023. To put it simply, I’d say that this €100 million has been built up mainly through inbound calls. Today, professional clients are an obvious growth driver. This year, we expect to see more growth in B2B than in B2C. If we can achieve a 100% or 200% growth by 2026, we will have succeeded in our challenge. This strategic shift will mean new investment for us.
