How Enhancy, with a model of automation and AI, wants to industrialise the second-hand sector

Optical Character Recognition, automated photo retouching and pricing... Enhancy, a SaaS company specialising in optimising the online resale of 2nd hand products (household appliances and fashion), won the Startup Award at Tech for Retail and is now accelerated at EuraTechnologies. Having just added a new client from the 2nd hand luxury goods sector, CEO Alexandre Fristot presented his AI and Gen-AI-based technological soluction to mind Retail.

The genesis

Created in November 2020, Enhancy (2023 turnover of €50,000, 2024 target of €100,000) specialises in supporting the resale of second-hand items. The founders are Jaafar Bounaim and Alexandre Fristot. They met in 2004 at a preparatory school in Metz, before different paths for 15 years. Jaafar Bounaim graduated from Telecom Brittany engineering school and joined Wavestone as an IT consultant specialising in cybersecurity, AI architecture and deeptech. He helped set up Wavestone’s The Factory laboratory, where he led a project for Sodexo on OCR (Optical Character Recognition, identification and categorisation by photography) for meal trays recognition, with a view to estimating the price at the time of collection.

Alexandre Fristot wears both a logistical and an entrepreneurial hat. After graduating from ENS Mines of Paris School in 2009, he was Logistics Manager for Lacoste‘s main wholesaler accounts in the U.S.A. Studying for a Masters in Innovation in Denmark in 2011,…
