Orange: signs a global Health and Safety agreement

On Friday November 21 the telecommunications company signed a global Health and Safety (H&S) agreement with UNI Global Union, Orange’s Union Alliance, and representatives of the French UNI union affiliates. In addition to a commitment to social dialogue on H&S issues and on a common set of principles, the agreement also contains measures that take into account public health issues such as HIV and other pandemics and especially those affecting the African region where Orange has a significant presence.

Already in December 2006 the company signed a global agreement on fundamental social rights. This latest agreement that was negotiated with the Orange Union Alliance and the Uni Global union federation is one of the few international agreements that includes commitments specifically targeting both H&S issues related to the work arena and also those outside of work and employment.
