Against a backdrop of rising shoplifting across Europe, Morrisons and Waitrose are trialling connected shopping trolleys with Instacart and Shopic. The aim of this digitalisation of a customer journey is to reduce stock loss and secure new revenue opportunities, thanks to the retail media capabilities built into these services.
