Luxembourg: reform of collective bargaining still pending

The Luxembourg labour minister met with the social partners on 4 March at the meeting of the Standing Committee on Labour and Employment (CPTE). However, the reform of collective bargaining presented by the government in October was not addressed as the unions had hoped. For the moment, no date has been set for the resumption of discussions, but these are likely to take the form of bilateral exchanges.

Despite the demands of the trade union front – OGBL and LCGB – the subject of collective bargaining reform was not on the agenda of the meeting of the Standing Committee on Labour and Employment (CPTE) on 4 March. In a letter addressed to labour minister Georges Mischo, on 26 February, the unions had asked him to “guarantee the right of unions with national representation to sign and negotiate collective agreements”…
