Spain: a bill for effective gender parity in companies

The Spanish government is looking to move towards effective gender balance in corporate decision making bodies, with at least 40% female representation on the boards of directors and in senior management positions. The government's goal is to have this quota in place by 2024 and applying to companies with more than 250 employees.

The government has presented draft legislation for parliamentary debate that seeks to achieve balanced gender representation in decision-making, both in the business world and in public life (election candidates, government members, professional associations etc.).
