Italy: tourism sector finally renews collective agreement, six years after expiry of predecessor

The employer organisations Aica and Federturismo Confindustria and the trade unions Filcams-Cgil, Fisascat-Cisl and Uiltucs penned a deal on 21 December to renew the national collective agreement for Italy's tourism industry, which covers the major hotel and catering companies, tourist resorts and tour operators. Applicable from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2027, the new text aims to promote gender parity and provides for an average pay rise of €200.

The signing of the agreement, which covers some 200,000 workers, comes after various instances of strike action and mobilisation, with the previous national collective agreement (CCN) for the tourism industry having expired on 31 December 2018.
