Germany : while the Schering’s employees are breathing, Volkswagen’s are getting ready for the conflict

Press review from June12th to June 18th. The unexpected extension of the battle between Bayer and Merck to take over Schering have ended up with the victory of Bayer, to Schering's employees' great relief who feared a dismantling of their company. Relief in Schering. Last June 14th, uncertainty reigned at Schering’s Berlin premises, German heavyweight in pharmacy (contraceptive and anti-cancer products) : «  For all of our partners’ interest, we are hoping that the future of the company will soon be clearly known », said Hubertus Erlen, Schering’s CEO. As the Stuttgart Zeitung recalled (13.06), Merck had launched a takeover on Schering in March.…
