United Kingdom: new flexible working bill adopted

Passed by the UK parliament on 14 July, the Employment Relations (Flexible Working) Act was promulgated during the summer. The law allows employees to submit two requests for flexible working to their company per year, as opposed to just one. However, it does not provide the right to flexible working from the first day of employment, despite numerous promises by the government.
