She believes that the implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) should be greatly simplified, but calls on France and the European Commission not to row back on Europe's social and ecological ambitions. There is a clear need to help companies integrate the risks and opportunities of social and environmental change into the heart of their business model. If they are not supported, they will be hit by crises. We need a single, common reference framework in Europe to get companies looking at the same thing, managing in the same way, and being able to compare themselves with one another. This common frame of reference will also make it easier for companies to integrate these issues, avoid having a multiplicity of injunctions and indicators to monitor, and deal with competition between national legislations. The CSRD must also help give value to these commitments, as they often represent an investment for companies, so the challenge is to give the prospect that these efforts can be supported by investors and public players.
