Poland: bill presented to extend maternity leave in event of premature birth

On 24 May, the minister for the family, labour and social policy, Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, presented a bill aimed at extending the duration of maternity leave by between eight and 15 weeks when a child is born prematurely or requires a longer hospital stay. This additional leave will benefit both mother and father, and will be covered at 100% by social security.
