China was hit by a new Coronavirus epidemic in December 2019. To date, the virus caused the death of at least 1,800 people before spreading abroad. From Wuhan, the epicentre of the epidemic, to Hubei province, Beijing and Shanghai, hundreds of millions of people are confined to their homes, schools are closed and employees are forced to work from home.
