Ikea plans to build a mixed-use complex of 430,000 sq.m. in Shanghai by 2022. Alongside the store (the 6th in China), the firm will offer space for more than 300 retailers in a 120,000 sq.m. area as well as a 60,000 sq.m. office space. This is the largest investment the Swedish firm has ever made in one site. Ikea plans two other malls in Changsha (Hunan) and Xi’an (Shaanxi) due to open in 2020 and 2022.
