As a former leading manufacturer of home appliances, Philips is reviewing ownership options for its home appliance business as it is no longer a strategic fit for the future. The Dutch firm (total sales of €19.4 billion in the year 2019, net margin of €1.2 billion) will create a separate legal structure for the home appliances business within the Group, ready by mid-2021. At that point, the entire new entity may also be sold off.
