In France since 2019, companies with more than 50 employees have to provide the Ministry of Labour with a gender equality score. mind Retail analysed the scores of companies in 8 retail sectors.

For the past four years, French companies with more than 50 employees have been required to submit their gender equality score to the Ministry of Labour. In 2024, 19,767 companies therefore provided a score for the year ended December 31, 2023, including 4,727 companies in the retail and distribution sector (INSEE classification).

This score, from 0 to 100, is the sum of points calculated on the following criteria: the gender pay gap (40 points), the gap in annual wage increases (20 points), the
