The Spanish government approved a series of measures on 20 March to support companies facing rising energy prices. In return, these businesses are prohibited from making redundancies for economic reasons and are required to accelerate the implementation of sustainable mobility plans.

A decree published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) on 21 March details the “Comprehensive Response Plan to the Middle East Crisis”, announced the previous day by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. It provides for a range of measures to counter the effects of rising fuel, gas, and electricity prices on the Spanish economy, including direct aid for the hardest-hit sectors. While the measures apply immediately, the decree must be ratified by a parliamentary vote within 30 days of its public
