Trade unionists of eight countries (Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands and the United States) inaugurated, last 23 March, the launching of a global trade-union network in the chemical industry giant Dupont, under the aegis of the ICEM (the International Federation of trade unions of the chemical Industry, Energy and Mines). This shows the work undertaken by the international or European organizations to build trade-union networks which are notably in charge of concluding overall agreements. (Ref. 06382)
The purpose of the network is to create a link between the employees of Dupont in the whole world, and to establish an effective co-operation between the various trade unions within this multinational. Its ambition is to exchange information, especially on the different company strategies -which are useful elements for collective bargaining- and to organize joint actions if necessary.
