The five French trade union organizations from the Alcan group were invited, on September 11, 2007, upon their request, by the Ministry of Economy and Finances, to share their concerns and require guaranties concerning the tender offer plan of the Anglo-Australian mining group Rio Tinto on the group Alcan. European staff representatives also want to be received by the European Commission which should give its opinion on Alcan's buy out by Rio Tinto, this coming October 2. (Ref. 070741)
