The Canadian group Alcan's European work's council met in an extraordinary session on July 25, 2007 in Zurich before the group's CEO, Dick Evans, in order to be informed and consulted on the project of friendly takeover from the Rio Tinto group on Alcan. (Ref. 070666)
Whereas the period of subscription to the takeover started on July 24 for a two-month period, Alcan’s EWC will be able to hear Rio Tinto’s managers during the September 17-september 21, 2007 week. Before the takeover closes, the management signaled that it could already have brought to fruition the sale scheme of Alcan’s packing activity to an industrial actor.
