Whilst the European Works Council opinion on the sale of Alstom's energy business to the American, General Electric is expected on Tuesday October 28, employee representatives report significant difficulties in obtaining all the necessary information to be able to make the decision. A kind of memorandum of understanding about the expertise provided to the employees' representatives and the calendar was signed in August. The expert assessment is to be made by two firms (one French and one German) and the consultation/information procedures are due to close next Tuesday. Due to the fact that these two firms are unable to furnish more information, Alstom’s EWC warns that it will not be able to pronounce its opinion if an agreement on social guarantees is not concluded.
Negotiation of an agreement over the consultations.
