The steel group ArcelorMittal (360,000 employees) ended the negotiation about its European WC last April (see our dispatch 070365) the agreement is now concluded and the signature ceremony will take place on July 9, 2007 in Luxembourg. This agreement, which is still strongly inspired by Arcelor's, shows an will to have efficient procedures, with the soaring up of the select committee and a will to master costs. (Ref. 070516)
In its preamble, the agreement affirms that it relies on “the original and founding principles of Arcelor’s and Mittal Steel’s EWCs. The new committee recaptures all of the “skills and prerogatives, both original and transmitted” of the two previous committees, as well as the allocations of the France Usinor group committee, which had been transferred to Arcelor’s EWC in 2002.
