- Why wasn’t the agreement for equal opportunities negotiated just with the EWC ?
Simply because the European works council has no competence to negotiate agreements. This competence is given to national trade unions or European trade union confederations. Even if we initiated the work job at the EWC level, to complete successfully the diagnosis phase, we then turned to the European Metalworkers Federation (EMF), to negotiate the agreement.
