l of absenteeism, the ÖBB’s personnel service pressured employees to know why they were on sick leave. Classified in the employees’ personal files, such data wasn’t kept away from prying eyes. It seems that medical notes were also used to manage career evolutions or stoppages. The ÖBB launched an internal survey and promised shedding light on illegal practices which resemble spying practices at the Deutsche Bahn, the German big sister. (Ref. 090835)
