aining, the metal social partners announced, this morning (October 18th), that they agreed on an average 4.2% wage increase for the sector’s 165,000 employees. It will come into force on November 1, 2011 for one year. For the lowest wage categories, the increase even reaches 5.3%. Unions believe that launching warning strikes unusually early helped “convince” employers. (Ref. 110625)
