The coalition government in Belgium has reached an agreement to adopt measures which will help create jobs in e-commerce as well as in ‘Horeca’, the hotel and restaurant industry. It is hoped that this will be achieved through tax breaks and greater flexibility of working hours. Furthermore, a “springboard jobs” system will be set up to help young people enter the labour market, with the coaching of older workers.

In accordance with the Horeca plan adopted in February 2015, a special status was created for individuals working 80% of the time outside the Horeca industry and would like to have an extra job in this sector. The allowances in this system will entitle workers to social rights.
