The government, willing to facilitate the hiring of research and “knowledge” workers, has decided to establish several administrative simplifications. However, the control of abuses will be strengthened. (Réf 0636)
These simplifications will take place in order to execute the “Busquin” directive (2005/71/CE of October 12th, 2005) on special admission procedures for research workers in the EU. From now on, workers who come to Belgium to do scientific research will no longer have to obtain a work permit if they work for a well-determined structure (university, institution or company for which the R&D activity is registered by the government).
