These simplifications will take place in order to execute the “Busquin” directive (2005/71/CE of October 12th, 2005) on special admission procedures for research workers in the EU. From now on, workers who come to Belgium to do scientific research will no longer have to obtain a work permit if they work for a well-determined structure (university, institution or company for which the R&D activity is registered by the government). These workers will also have to be paid at least 32 000 euros...
