The Minister for Social Integration, Pensions and Urban Policy, Marie Arena (Socialist Party) presented to the Council of Ministers on October 3, 2008, a project of national conference on pensions. The conference, which will last for one year, should lead to a reform of the pension scheme. (Ref. 080761)
The conference will be composed of representatives of the government’s parties, the Social Partners and the administrations concerned. It will be managed by a task-force which will propose, by mid-December, the creation of thematic work groups where other role-players may be invited, such as the organizations of pensioners’ representatives.
