On July 17, the House of Lords adopted the bill to modernize labor, which notably brings flexibility to the overtime system. The Senate could very well decide not to look at the bill, so this adoption would be permanent. It partly transposes the agreement the social partners signed in February. (Ref. 130491)
Higher internal limit. This limit (65 hours today) is the maximum number of hours an employee can do in addition to usual working time in a quarter. Beyond this limit, s/he can no longer do extra hours as long as they haven’t gotten their recovery hours. The bill brings this limit to 78 hours/quarter – 91 if 1 year is added to the reference period.
