Integrated production. ArcelorMittal, Cockerill’s parent company, decided to revive integrated steel production in the Cockerill basin. The hot work sites closed in the spring because of the bad economic situation of the steel market will be reopen and employees sent to cold production sites in 2009 will be redeployed here. The “hot” phase allows manufacturing raw steel in the form of long bands wrapped as reels which are then transformed “cold” into finished products in the form of rolled coils.
