Belgian social partners signed, on September 27, 2007, a joint declaration which sets the principles for a new system for employees' financial involvement in the company's results. The system, which stands for a provision currently judged hardly attractive, will enable to pay bonuses as high as 2.200 euros a year for every employee. It should come into effect on January 1, 2008. (Ref. 070798)
The new device, which creation had been planned in the inter-professional agreement 2007-2008 (see our story No. 070072), now has to be transformed by the National Labour Council, the inter-professional labour-management representation body, into a text which will then be taken up by the government. Then, this text will open the possibility for employers to negotiate with staff representatives agreements on employees’ involvement in the company’s performances.
