Belgium: the government announced a plan in favor of health and safety at work

Joelle Miquet, Minister for Employment, presented, on April 28, 2008, on the occasion of the world day for health and safety at work, a five-year program to improve the health, safety and well-being of the people at work, which will be "a high priority" during her mandate. The plan pays special attention to psychosocial risks. (Ref. 080358)

The 2008-2012 program to improve the health,
safety and well-being of people at work, which is in line with the Community
objective of reducing industrial accidents by 25%, plans in particular to “develop
methods to identify and evaluate new risks, notably psychosocial risks and risks
linked to nanotechnology, risks for breeding and musculoskeletal troubles”. The
other goal is to strengthen policies in areas such as the fight against cancer,
workplaces without cigarette smoke, and the promotion
