A royal decree relative to protection against noise at work, published last February 15th, aims at transposing the European directive implementing minimal security and health standards for workers exposed to risks due to physical agents. (Ref.06168)
Belgium has noticed a considerable increase in the number of workers suffering from hearing disorders linked to noise exposure at work. The country is now acting, by imposing stricter legislation on this problem.
The new legislation has lowered the maximum levels of noise, three new levels are now in place:
