Following a decision from the Paris court of appeals canceling the anticipation agreement on the European dialogue committee set up in 1995, the French company Bouygues sent a letter to the European Federation of Workers of Building and Wood (EFWBW) to constitute a special negotiations group with a view to creating a European works council. On October 12, 2006, the Paris court of appeals published a decision which questioned the May 5, 1995 anticipation agreement which had set up a European dialogue committee within the Bouygues group, after a litigation opposing the groups’ CGT to the management. After this disagreement, which started during the committee’s annual meeting in 2004, and which concerned the appointment of CGT members within it, the latter has not met again until today.
