lt-Nissan’s factory in Sao José dos Pinhais in the south of the country launched, on September 4, 2009, an unlimited strike to get an 11% wage increase. This movement adds up to another movement at Volkswagen-Audi in the same city. In total, 8,500 workers in the Brazilian auto industry have been paralyzing the activity to pressure wage negotiations.
