At the end of the annual meeting in July 2014, the Minister for Labor and Employment recognized five representative central trade unions. The five in order of importance are: the Unified Workers Central (CUT), the Força Sindical (FS), the General Workers Union (UGT), the Central of Male and Female workers of Brazil (CTB), and the New Central Workers Union (NCST). The ranking depends on four criteria that in turn depend on the level of affiliated members.
The Minister for Labor and Employment officially recognized five central unions and published the list in the official Journal on July 18, 2014.
Four cumulative criteria. The CUT remains the primary representative body with 34.39%. Following the CUT is the FS (12.59%), the UGT (11.92%), the CTB (9.33%) and then the NCST (8.01%).
