In a November 15 ruling, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled that a law from the Alberta province used by the Information and Privacy Commissioner to keep a union from filming and photographing workers crossing a picket line was unconstitutional. (Ref. 130742)
Within the framework of a strike that lasted 305 days at the Casino Palace in West Edmonton Mall, the local UFCW-TUAC took pictures and made movies of workers crossing the picket line. A sign stated that these images would be uploaded to a dedicated website, which in the end never happened.
