On 30 April, the Chilean government announced that it had struck an agreement with the country's main trade union organisation, the Central Unitaria de Trabajadores, on an increase in the minimum wage. This is set to rise to 539,000 pesos (€505) by 2026 (6.7% increase). The agreement is subject to approval by congress.
The Chilean government of Gabriel Boric, the leftwing president in power since March 2022, announced on 30 April that it had reached an agreement with the Central Unitaria de Trabajadores (CUT), the country’s main trade union coalition, to increase the minimum wage. This should rise to 529,000 Chilean pesos in May, before a further increase in January 2026, bringing the minimum wage to 539,000 pesos (€505). The agreement will need to be approved by congress.
