CJEU Advocate General calls for annulment of European directive on minimum wages
In an opinion delivered on 14 January, the Advocate General of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) has supported Denmark's request for the annulment of the directive on minimum wages. He considers that the directive violates the Treaty on the Functioning of the EU, pointing out that the Treaty allows the EU to adopt directives to establish minimum requirements for working conditions, but not to legislate on workers' pay.
