The French printing group CPI (4.000 employees) signed an agreement establishing a European Works' Council, on December 13, 2007, followed by the council's first meeting. The goal is to introduce European social dialogue within this group which is developing in Europe with an external growth strategy. (Ref. 071033)
The council gets information to exchange views and dialogue about transnational issues only concerning the entire group or least two sites located in two different Member States. This classic approach goes along with a explicit rule specifying that “issues concerning one country only are not considered as issues with a transnational nature, even if the decision comes from a management located in another Member State”.
