Members of USW from Toronto have been on strike since September 6 as Crown Holdings demands major concessions from employees, including two-tier wage rates and pension freezes. The north-American union launched a global petition and several European unions have shown their solidarity. Crown Holdings, a US based multinational company, has 149 plants in 41 countries, employing 21,900 workers.
