The law supplements the new Labor Code. Its aim is to improve workers' safety and protect their health. 'Safety coordinators' will be in charge of supervising construction sites, where many accidents occur.(Ref. 06598)

Czech President Vaclav Klaus signed a bill concerning work safety. The new legislation will take effect on 1 January 2007, at the same time as the new Labor Code. The new law deals with safety and health protection in labor-law relations but also deals with activities and services provided outside the labor-law relations.
