With a 3 % growth rate and a 4.4 % unemployment rate in August - a historically low level- the Danish economy is close to overheating. The government has launched a campaign of seduction towards its European neighbors to find skilled personnel. (Ref. 06976)
The Danish minister of Employment, Claus Hjort Frederiksen, introduced on September 26th « Denmark, a country of employment », a plan in 13 points intended to promote Denmark as a delightful country for the foreign work force. « The lack of workforce can threaten the current economic growth. It is therefore necessary to ease the access of foreign workers to Denmark », he declared. Denmark is particularly looking towards its closest neighbors: Sweden, Germany, Poland and the Baltic States.
