Denmark: 45% of people laid off in November found another job within four weeks

Hyperactive employment centers. Jens Anker Hasager, responsible of an employment center in Arhus (the country’s second largest city) told the magazine that, in spite of the crisis, the labor market is still very active and that action towards new jobseekers is now faster and more focused. “Employers recruit every day. We present around 500 job offers each day and there is even a workforce shortage in some sectors” he explained. Although the system is “under pressure” to connect jobseekers and businesses, he acknowledged that it is more unusual than before not to have an applicant for a vacancy.
