A record number of bankruptcies in November, low exports and increased unemployment rate: the crisis is starting to show in Denmark. However, the Minister of Labor is optimistic as to the evolution of employment, while more and more companies consult their organizations on the management of dismissals. (Ref. 081013)
The number of bankruptcies
in November reached its highest level in thirty years with 379 bankruptcies,
i.e. a 70% increase compared with the same period in 2007. Besides, exports
decreased of 4.2% in October compared to the previous month. And, for the first
time since July 2005, unemployment rose, from 1.6% to 1.7% in October – leading
to 47.700 jobseekers (100.000 jobseekers are expected by the end of 2010). According
