On May 30, after a third reading, the Parliament permanently adopted Act 209 which transposes the European temporary work directive into Danish law. Unions were really waiting for this adoption as they see it as a key tool against social dumping resulting from the “posting” of foreign workers in the country, mostly from Eastern Europe. Act 209 will come into force on July 1 and transposes Community Directive No. 2008/104/EC on temporary work (see article No. 080986). It took the Parliament one month and a half to adopt it (see article No. 130273). It covers workers who have a temporary labor contract with a Danish or foreign company and the agency workers posted in Denmark by a foreign temporary work agency (TWA) in a private or public sector form.
