On June 28, the Danish Parliament adopted the welfare reform, which will come into force on January 1, 2014. It provides, among other things, for the obligation to do “useful” work for beneficiaries over 30 and a training “right/obligation” for people under 30. (Ref. 130444)
“The welfare reform is a major step in the introduction of a new action plan for employment,” declared Labor Minister Mette Frederiksen. She rejoiced with the approval, by a large majority of Parliament on June 28, of Acts No. 223 and 224, which amend several laws and make up the welfare reform (Kontanthjælpsreformen).
