Having regard the accession of the new Member States to the European Union, negotiations were carried out, since 2003, to add a protocol to the agreement on free movement of persons concluded on June 21, 1999 between, the European Community and its Member States, and in addition, the Swiss Confederation. Entry into force of free movement of workers between Switzerland and the new Member States
The Council Decision of 27 February 2006 which approves the protocol relative to free movement of persons between Switzerland and the new Member States is published in the Official Journal of the European Union as well as the protocol and information specifying its entry into force. (Réf. 06300)
