In a judgment passed on 12 January, the Court of Justice of the European Union ruled in favour of a Polish television editor who claimed a nationwide broadcaster declined to renew his contract for freelance work because of his sexual orientation. The complainant, who was seeking compensation, was scheduled to work two one-week shifts in a single month for the channel, which however cancelled the shifts just days after he published a video online promoting tolerance towards same-sex couples....
