EU: chemicals sector social partners sign a joint declaration on digitalization

On Tuesday 22 November, IndustriAll Europe (unions) and the ECEG (employers) signed a joint declaration* on the social and employment related aspects of digitalisation, and in particular they underlined the need for the social partners to work together on adapting competences.

To meet the challenges thrown up by new technologies and the changing nature of jobs, the social partners have underlined the need to adapt initial and lifelong training, requiring the social partners’ involvement in schooling and curricula and both company and sector-specific training programs. A key focus is the anticipation of change.
