EU: Council approves omnibus directive on sustainability

On 24 February, two months after the European Parliament, the Council of the EU adopted the omnibus package amending the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). Only Austria, Belgium and Bulgaria abstained. The Czech Republic voted against. Member states will have one year from the third week following publication in the Official Journal to transpose the CSRD provisions and until 26 July 2028 for those on due diligence. T
